Hillier, Ontario – Prince Edward County
Walking through the vineyards and surrounding countryside of Wellington is simply amazing! The air is so fresh and a light rain falling becomes a magical mist throughout the fields. Pinot noir grape vines are reaching upwards with the promise of a new season.
Who knows where the wine trail will lead me on my search for the perfect pinot noir. It has lead me here with all the colours and nuances of summer. I am ready to paint the essence of wine, beginning with the bright green vines. The colour relationships of soil and greenery have accents of wine colours. I see a nice freshness, full of possibilities. This painting will travel to Bay of Quinte Art and Wine Festival in Belleville to share my painting process as an artist.
Back in the studio my brushes dip into the entrepreneurial culture of growing grapes and producing wine. Paints are arranged for blending and I am ready to recreate the rows of vines. Layers of earth and sky grow and connect the viewer to a love of the land. All is intricately woven like a tapestry. The anticipation of cultivating something wonderful inspires.
Thank you Hubbs Creek Vineyards!
Vineyards and Wineries
Vineyards and Wineries is a collection of colourful county and country landscapes painted with acrylics on gallery canvas. Paintings are 16×20″ with a depth of 1.5″ and a painted edge, ready for hanging. These paintings explore a variety of favourite vineyards across Canada. Favourite picks! Brushes explore the beauty of grapevines from the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario in this series. What began with traveling to wine festivals has become an inspiration. This is evident with renderings of Prince Edward County, West Kelowna and Osoyoos – all brilliant in hue. This series by Canadian artist and designer Tina Monod is about the time honoured tradition of growing grapes, harvests and winemaking all in this beautiful country of Canada.
